EAA Chapter 1303 Aviation Education Announcement!

After the great success of our Silent Auction at the Pancake Breakfast this past May, our EAA chapter has decided to help send a young woman or young man aged 16 thru 18 to the EAA Advanced Air Academy in Oshkosh Wisconsin for the summer of 2017.

We are very excited and would like to thank YOU and the local Lapeer businesses for the generous donations!

During this year and up till EARLY IN 2017 our EAA Chapter will be actively looking for young men and women with an avid interest of a possible future in aviation.

The Challenge and what we will be looking for:

Posted above is a “link” to a Questionnaire Type Survey with a series of 4 questions to be answered by each interested young man or young woman. Please answer this Survey as soon as possible.

Please watch for ongoing details on our Facebook Page.

We will then announce the choice of that lucky young man or lady EARLY IN 2017. We will also place that announcement on our Facebook page as well.

There is a Scholarship Fund in place to help with the cost of the Air Academy. For more details on the scholarship and any other questions, please call: Betty Keil at 248-431-4282

Fun and discovery combine for an experience that young people can find nowhere else at the EAA Air Academy, a series of weeklong camps designed to introduce young people ages 12-18 to the aviation world.

Campers are engaged through a variety of hands-on activities while staying at the EAA Air Academy Lodge in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Experienced aviation instructors help them delve into flight through studies, hands-on demonstrations, flight simulation, and other exciting activities.

Recognized by MSN Money as one of 10 summer camps “worth the money,” Air Academy provides the foundation for a lifelong love of aviation.

The lodge has 12 bunkrooms with four bunks per room and shared bathroom facilities. The lodge also has four special needs accessible suites, each with private bathroom facilities. Each suite is also equipped with four bunks.

Recreational facilities include the Air Academy Lodge library, gazebo with fire pit, volleyball court, slate pool table, foosball, carpet ball, ping-pong, TV/video viewing, and more.

The Air Academy Lodge will add to the unique and memorable adventure you’ll have at the Air Academy.

The EAA Air Academy Lodge is the hub of activity during your stay in Oshkosh.
You’ll eat, sleep and make new friends here!
